Here's a little show prep for you guys. When was the last time the Lions won three straight games? 2007 against the Bucs, Bears and Broncos. When was the last time they won two consecutive on the road...2004 when they won three in a row on the road against Chicago, Atlanta, and the G-Men.

Comment on 4.16 Two Streaks Broken

Wat up jody, its chris from everest. we won 2 games back 2 back now and i think we will get 1 more, either the dolphins or the viks. Miami sucks at home and i have tickets to see the viks game live at ford field!!! The thing is that if we were in the rams division along with san fran and arizona and settle, we would be division champs this year due to their horrid division. The way we played this year in our ohh so tough division, sys ALOT!
suh needs to get deffensive player of the year and rookie of the year. Delmas is turning into a troy polumalu type guy. best will be %100 next year and matthew glassford will have some time to replace his glass body with some titanium. I like matt alot, just concerned with him always needing a bandaid. in the draft i say we go
round 1- shutdown corner
round 2- LB--greg jones from msu
round 3- offensive guard

Comment on 4.16 Two Streaks Broken

Hope we get some good beat-nik this week...don't let the fans down Jay!

Comment on 4.16 Two Streaks Broken

LIONS WIN!!!! Perhaps we can snap another losing streak next week against the Bucs.

Comment on 4.14 This Is Not Fun Anymore

Well, another week, another Lions loss.

You knew what was coming before the game even started when the Lions got flagged before the first snap of the football.

There is no difference between being a Lions fan and being Bill Murray in the movie groundhog's day. Well...on second thought, I guess there is - because Bill Murray at least had the power to change things.

Painful. Dreadful. Humbling. Being a Lions fan is not easy...

Until the draft which is a mere 4 1/2 months away!

I'd like for you guys to talk about Levy a bit. All I ever hear about is how great Levy is...that he's another great building block for Detroit. All I ever see this guy do is blow coverages, miss tackles, and miss time due to injury. What is everyone seeing that I'm not?!

Thanks for doing the show. I don't know how you keep it up given the current situation. God f'n bless you for doing so though.

Comment on 4.11 Painfull, Just Painfull

Pathetic, pathetic, pathetic.

As a result, I am apathetic.

I don't care anymore. The Lions will be in the top 5 slots of the draft again. The Lions have 25 road losses in a row. Longest streak ever, topping their previous record.

They gave up. They don't care anymore. Well guess what? I don't either.

I'm not sure what motivates you guys to keep doing the show, but I sure am glad you do. Thanks for providing us fans with the weekly therapy we need.

Here's one for Jay, who inspires me.

The Detroit Lions, lose every week
At home, on the road, sunny or bleak
The QB's are frail, the linebackers slow
The Oline will promise to suck or to blow
The coaching excuses, heard every Monday
offer the promise, they'll show up to play
and sure enough, the following game
will leave us all aching, sad and in pain
I once loved the Lions, of my native Detroit City
I now shake my head, no other feeling but pity
For all of the fans, who show up to cheer
drunk on their kool-aid, as well as on beer
There's no other way, to root on this team
Unless you are hammered, or asleep in a dream
Those damn stupid Lions, those losers, those bums
Prove every week, they CAN be more dumb
The losses add up, they pile on the floor
It's been 50 years of losing, and I can't take no more
Yet I'm certain I know, that in just 6 days
I'll be in front of my TV, watching play after play
Screaming and cheering, Go Calvin, go Suh
I still love the Lions...yes, somehow It's true.

Sarah
Bloomfield Hills

Comment on 4.10 Bring on the Jets

Hello Alan and Jay,

I refuse to take on the crybaby mentality of "fans" and columnists alike. Mitch Album had the audacity to call this team "The Same Old Lions." Was he referring to the Lions that were always down 21-0 at the end of the 1st quarter under Rod Moronelli?? Because I saw a Lions team that came out and punched the possible Super Bowl contending New York Jets team right in the mouth. The Jets had to go to overtime to beat the Lions, and they were lucky to get the win. If Suh hits that extra point, they probably don't even get the opportunity to do so.

Moving forward, I am sad to see my prediction about Stafford re-injuring his throwing shoulder came true. It was the exact same injury Bradford had last year, same results. Stafford will more than likely require surgery to fix the injury. The good news is that he will be back next year at 100%.

Ultimately, this means the Lions season is over. Beat writers will begin slamming Schwartz, fans will begin calling them the same old Lions, and eventually it will bury the team. It's such a shame because there was such an optimism surrounding the team no more than a few days ago. I literally heard the balloon pop when Stafford went down in the 4th quarter. You could literally hear the wind get sucked right out of the sails of a ship that was heading in the right direction. I knew it watching on television, the fans at the game knew it, the players on the sidelines knew it. The season had ended.

I, for one, will REFUSE to get down though. I hope you guys feel the same way. If we get down and the beat writers get their way, we will see the entire coaching staff get fired at the end of next year and the cycle will start over again. The key to not repeating the past is to do things differently in the present and future. We need to keep a positive attitude. We need to support this team in their darkest hour. We need to realize it wasn't 21-0 at the end of the 1st quarter against the Jets. We need to realize that we CAN beat the Bills even with Drew Stanton.

Keep your heads up. Keep supporting the team. This is a damn good team with a bright future. Sorry Mitch Album, but these are NOT the same old Lions. This is a team with a lot of talent that needs the support of it's fans to turn the corner.

Go Lions! Beat the Bills! Keep improving, keep the coaches, and stay the course!

PS. - Not to completely contradict myself, but I suppose it's ok for us to start sprinkling in some conversation about the draft, right? :)

Thanks as always for doing the show! I've definitely become a Lions in the Basement junkie.

Comment on 4.9 Rested, Healthy, and ready to WIN

Second half of the season. Lions begin 1-0.

Ndamukong Suh is ridiculous. Calvin Johnson is ridiculous. We have some awesome players.

The Redskins game was a rollercoaster of emotions. When Suh scored his touchdown I got so excited I stood up and did a dance resembling a chicken with loose knees and parkinson's disease that was trying sh!t out a bowling ball. I even made these strange high pitched sounds I have never made, or heard, before. I had the opposite of a mental breakdown. I love how Santana Moss just bounced right off Suh as he trotted into the endzone. Suh just turned around and stared at him as he scored, the way King Kong might stare at a fly on a piece of crap.

God I love playing the Redskins.

If we beat the Jets I seriously might fall over and die. Cause of death, spontaneous combustion from too much happiness.

A & J, you guys rock.

Comment on 4.7 A Glimpse of the Future

Hey guys,

I'm at the point where I am so confident in this team, I feel disappointed after any loss. In previous years I would have had a several discussions with myself in the days prior to the game before a team like Giants in which I reminded myself over and over that the Lions were going to get blown out. Coming off that big Rams win, I kind of was hoping for the Lions to snap that long ass road game losing streak. They hung in there and played pretty well I guess. Not bad for having Stanton, who actually played pretty well, and no running game whatsoever.

What's up with the run game? It's here one week, gone the next. Where is the consistency?

They say Stafford should be back the week after the bye, but I still have my doubts. We'll have to wait and see over the next few weeks. This is definitely the perfect time for the Lions to have a bye week. They are starting to get banged up after remaining relatively healthy. They could use the week off.

PS. During the second half of the Lions game all I could do was scream "CRAZY LEGS STANTON" during every offensive play. You guys are always referring to him as Crazy Legs Stanton and it cracks me up. It was nice to have a laugh during and otherwise disappointing afternoon.

Will you guys be doing a show during the bye week?

Take it easy,

Kevin
Tempe AZ
